WHO WE ARE

 

GOD IS GOOD CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES, INC. is a church planting ministry founded on July 11, 1998, Saturday, by Pastor Joel Sarmiento and Pastor F. Paris Espana.  Their first official meeting was held in a rented room in a now defunct Robinson’s Apartelle in Mandaluyong City. Together with Sis. Liza Sarmiento (Sis. Elaine Espana couldn’t come due to the imminent delivery of their second child), they prayed for the birthing of God is Good Church. The first, actual service was held the following day, Sunday, which was attended by some family members and former Christian brethren.

 

It was on the 21st of the same month when the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) handed the Certificate of Ministry with an official name- God is Good Christian Ministries, Inc. (GIGCM). It was birthed out of the vision and the desire of the church to obey and fulfill the Lord’s calling to proclaim the Good News to all nations, commonly referred to as the “Great Commission”. 

 

God is Good Christian Ministries, therefore, envisions doing church planting, and training of qualified and committed workers for the work of the ministry. It seeks to accomplish the following objectives:  Ministry to GOD, Ministry to the Body of CHRIST and, Ministry to the WORLD.

 

At present, God is Good Christian Ministries’ head office is located at No. 206 Tiosejo St., Gomega Building, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, Philippines, where Pastor Joel G. Sarmiento, the Senior Pastor, also holds its main local church assemblies and ministries regularly. The ministry had also established a local church in Mabuhay City Subdivision, Dasmarinas, Cavite, under the pastoral leadership of Pastora Melinda T. Lomoya.  Another daughter church formed in Angono, Rizal, is also being handled by Pastor Joel Sarmiento. The fourth church planted in Bacoor, Cavite, is being pastored by Pastor Ariel Lacson. 

 

In Thailand, under the leadership of Pastor-Missionary, F. Paris Espana, God is Good (International) Missions, together with his wife, Sis. Elaine, collaborated with Thai local leaders in establishing 3 orphanages & churches strategically located in Doisaket District and Maerim District in Chiang Mai Province, and in Maesuay District, Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. Along with these, we helped in building their Homes and in supporting the lives of so many tribal children living in Baan Phraporn in Doisaket, Baan Saeng Thai Daroon, Maerim in the past. And as of this writing, the main focus of our cross-cultural ministry is at Baan Pak Dek Phraporn (Home of Blessed Kids).

 

Moreover, we also supported the local church planting mission of Pastor Joel Guemo and Sis. Rose Guemo, who are affiliated with the New Tribes Mission Outreach. We regularly supported their work in Liguiran, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte for some years, until they moved and are presently working in Aurora Province, eastern part of Central Luzon, Philippines.

 

Several years ago, God is Good Church expanded when the leadership of GIGCM approved the affiliation of 2 local churches in Laguna Province: the first one is headed 

 

by Pastor Hector (Jec) Vallarta in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, and the second one is headed by Pastor Demetrio (Danny) Castaneda in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Both of them and their churches have since been an integral part of GIG Church family.

 

Furthermore, God is Good Christian Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit, non-stock, religious Christian organization duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Republic of the Philippines. It is authorized to plant churches and establish a school ministry, foundation, literature ministry, evangelistic activities, radio and/or TV programs, and local or cross-cultural mission works.

WHO ARE IN CHURCH LEADERSHIP


Pastor Joel G. Sarmiento. He is tasked as the overall Senior Pastor of God is Good Church, and he specifically provides pastoral ministry to GIG Church Mandaluyong and GIG Church Angono. He also oversees the entire God is Good Ministries and its six (6) local GIG churches in the Philippines- making sure that the vision of the church is pursued and that all the activities and ministries being done are in line with the call of God. In consultation with the Core Leaders, he works in crafting and in implementing policies and guidelines of the ministry and carries out church programs or activities in response to the growing changes or demands in society or the country. Most recently, Pastor Joel spearheads the Online Ministry (FBLive Programs) of the GIGCM.

 

Bro. F. Paris R. Espana. He is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand as a Pastor/Missionary of the GIG Church.  He supports missions/outreaches of the church, both local and international- but with emphasis on cross-cultural mission. He conducts fundraising efforts under GIG International to construct church buildings, sets up livelihood projects for Children’s Homes and provides spiritual & leadership assistance to Thai and tribal local churches. He also helps in training emerging leaders in Bible Schools and in local churches in northern Thailand, not to mention the discipleship of the Lahu children in Home of Blessed Kids. Even while abroad, Pastor Paris is actively involved in important decision-making of GIGCM, conducts training during his visits, offers counseling & encouragement, and supports its Online Ministry programs. 


Pastora Melinda T. Lomoya. She handles the pastoral ministry in GIG Church Dasmarinas in Mabuhay City, Cavite. As part of her pastoral commitment, she also handles Home Bible studies, conducts hospital and home visitations and follow up ministry, supervises all the Fellowship Groups in GIG Dasmarinas Church and is actively involved in all the Online Ministry programs of GIGCM. In addition to all of this, Pastora Melinda acts as the overall Office Administrator of God is Good Christian Ministries’ office in Mandaluyong City- handling financial matters and other needed documentations that our Pastors and our local churches need, including the preparations and submission of annual reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Bureau of Internal Revenues (BIR).

 

Pastor Ariel M. Lacson. He serves as a pastor of GIG Church in Bacoor, Cavite. He also handles the Ministry of Helps of GIGCM that provides immediate financial assistance to our brethren in need and to those others related to our brethren. The ministry, likewise, extends support to our churches and communities whenever possible. Together with the other church leaders, Pastor Ariel is committed to support and minister to GIG Church brethren through the Online Ministry programs. Moreover, as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Pastor Ariel provides assistance in reviewing our ministry’s financial matters for submission to the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) and Bureau of Internal Revenues (BIR).


Sis. Elsa F. Ng. She is the church leaders’ Spiritual Adviser and one of the pillars of the church. She lends full support and prayers to all the ministries of GIG Christian Ministries, both locally and internationally.


 

WHY WE EXIST

Our Vision


God is Good Christian Ministries exists to glorify GOD by bringing people to CHRIST, training them to become mature, fruitful Christians and good citizens of the country, equipping them to do ministry works and enabling them to fulfill their calling and purpose in life.

As a church, God is Good Church envisions itself as God’s living witness in proclaiming His Word and His love in the entire Philippines and abroad, seeing concrete results through the salvation of many people and doing various ministries to help them grow and mature, and plant churches whenever and wherever possible.

Our Mission

MINSTRY TO GOD

We minister to GOD by equipping our members to devote themselves in prayer, in reading the Bible, and in worshipping our Almighty GOD in SPIRIT and in TRUTH. 

God is Good Church, therefore, provides opportunities to all the members to worship God through various church services it regularly holds, in prayer and fasting meetings, Bible devotions, and other special activities (like Night of Worship, special Retreats)- believing that these avenues will open doors for them to commune with God and strengthen their relationship with Him. 


MINISTRY TO THE BODY OF CHRIST

We minister to the local body of CHRIST by conducting seminars, preaching, counseling, strengthening the unity of the members, and by helping them meet their needs holistically. 

It is in the heart of God is Good Church to make sure that each member values and strengthens his/her fellowship to every other member of the church - and to experience the “body life principle” pictured and set as good examples by the early church in the Book of Acts.

Additionally, God is Good Church networks and actively participates in helpful Christian activities of leaders and brethren of other local Churches in the community where it is located, even nationally and universally. This is part of our commitment to support the unity of the Body of Christ and to serve as a great witness to the world we live in.


MINISTRY TO THE WORLD

We minister to people who have not yet received Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior- in places where our local God is Good Churches in the Philippines are established and/or located. And since the beginning, our church heeded the call of God in sending missionaries to places that are still considered unreached, both locally and internationally.

Whether it is in local or cross-cultural ministries, God is Good Church always seeks the leading of God in doing church planting, providing livelihood projects to the poor, conducting humanitarian outreaches, media and social media ministries, medical missions, special-events kind of evangelism, disaster and relief operations, and many others.


 

WHAT WE BELIEVE

 

  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible WORD of GOD. It is the final authority for our faith and life. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)
  • We believe in God, eternally existing in three Persons – the FATHER, the SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT. (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14)
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the SON of GOD. He became a man without ceasing to be GOD for the redemption of mankind. He died on the cross, resurrected from the dead, ascended to heaven, and is now at the right hand of GOD. (Jn. 1:1-2, 14; Rom. 3:22-25; Eph. 1:7-8; 1 Pet. 1:3-5; Acts. 1:9-11; Rom. 8:34)
  • We believe that Man was created in the image and likeness of GOD to have dominion over creation. But through Adam, sin entered the human race and death through sin. He became alienated from GOD, totally depraved and unable to save himself. (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:1-3)
  • We believe that the Salvation of man is a grace of GOD, through faith in CHRIST JESUS. It is not from ourselves nor by works, but a gift of GOD. (Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 10:9-11)
  • We believe that the Church is a body of CHRIST composed of true believers of CHRIST. As CHRIST’S bride, she operates through the gifts of the Spirit for the edification of the body and the glory of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. (Acts 11:19-24; Eph. 1:22-23; 1 Cor.12:12-14; Rom. 12:4-8)
  • We believe in Baptisms of water and the Holy Spirit as CHRIST JESUS commanded to all those who believe in Him. (Matt. 28:18, 19; Matt. 3:13-17; Acts 2:38-41; Acts. 1:8; Eph. 5:18)
  • We believe in the bodily Resurrection of all men – the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to everlasting punishment. (Matt. 25:31-46; Jn. 5:28, 19; Jn. 11:25; Rev. 20:6-13)
  • We believe in the Second Coming of the LORD JESUS CHRIST to establish His messianic kingdom on earth. (Matt. 24:30; Lk. 21:27; 1 Thess.4:16-18)
  • We believe in the Great Commission which the LORD JESUS entrusted to His disciples to proclaim the gospel to all mankind. (Matt. 28:18-20; Mk. 16:15-20; Lk. 24:45-49; Jn. 20:21-23)



OUR CORE VALUES

 

As a significant Spiritual Guideline, we include God is Good Church’s CORE VALUES to help our brethren, especially the young people and children in our churches- by instilling godly Christian values that our GIG Church espouses. 

 

And with the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit of God, we used the name CHRIST as an acronym. Here are those values:
